MAIN TASK: As for the main task, students will make forecasts about the tides during any month based on data regarding the tides over a whole month, gathered in our area. To do this, they will need to know that tides depend on the Moon. Once they have learnt how tides function, they will have to put together a proposal for a trip so as to later to defend it in front of the rest of the class. To do this, they will have to write a report and prepare a presentation with around 4-5 slides. OBJECTIVE: The main aim of the sequence is to learn about the movements of the Earth and the Moon, as well as understanding some consequences of these movements. Students will also get the chance to learn the steps that need to be taken in scientific work, i.e. they will learn that the most suitable way of defending events from a scientific standpoint is by taking measurements.
